Jumping in the Deep End

How can we return our college writing students to a time when fearlessness, self-confidence, and love of discovery governed their play and learning? Imagine how awesome that would be: no fear of “sounding stupid” or making mistakes–just an uninhibited flow of ideas and rhetorical experimentation. How do you think such an attitude would affect the revision and editing processes?
