If your homelearner is college-bound, you have to do it. You have to teach how to write academic essays and research papers. That dreaded 5-paragraph essay? It’s a good place to get one’s bearings, but you don’t want your learner’s writing to live there.
Ahh, preparation for college writing. . . let’s do this!
As a homeschooling mom and professor of writing and literature, I have a special interest in guiding and supporting learners and their teaching parents in preparation for college-level writing and critical thinking. So let me just say it: teaching writing is tough!
I know because I’ve been teaching it for over 20 years.
But it’s not impossible and it doesn’t have to be painful.
Despite best intentions (and pricey curricula), if one has never taught in a college classroom, then one cannot accurately and sufficiently prepare a student for the rigors of college-level writing and thinking––or to thrive in the college classroom.
This is what I do.
This is what I have done for over 20 years.
This is what I want to help you achieve.
With my guidance, resources, and support. . .
